Join York St John University Chancellor, Reeta Chakrabarti and her guest Hetan Shah, Chief Executive of the British Academy, as they explore the most pressing challenges facing the UK today and our readiness to meet them head on.

Alongside leading the UK's national academy for the humanities and social sciences, Hetan serves as Chair of Our World in Data, an organisation which brings together research and data to make progress against the world's largest problems.

In his thought-provoking lecture, "Why does nothing work anymore, and what can we do about it?", Hetan will share his unique perspective on the issues and opportunities that require our attention, from broken policy and societal change, to the ways in which AI could help to shape healthier and happier communities.

Join us for an evening of bold questions and big ideas, and discover how, together, we can envision and create a fairer future for all.

Doors open: 5.45pm

Event starts: 6.00pm

Event finishes: 7.00pm

Followed by a drinks reception, canapés and informal conversation with Hetan until 7.30pm.
